● 책 소개
Thε Socialist Workers Party (SWP), that I’ve spent most of my years building, has been well served in terms of its history. My husband, Tony Cliff, published an autobiography called A World to Win, which discusses the political background of the SWP. Ian Birchall has covered his life in an excellent biography, which is a meticulous analysis of the theory and practice of the SWP from its roots to the year 2000. So is there a need for something more?
My hope is to show that we revolutionaries are people like anyone else. We have social and cultural aspects to our lives which are part and parcel of our struggle for a different world. What happens between the evening meeting and the weekend paper sale? What about family life? And why do people become revolutionaries in the fìrst place? We do not want a revolution in order to have yet more meetings and get cold and wet on street corners forever. Under capitalism it is virtually impossible to live the full life that Marx talked about for the future --- from the inside of this book.ⓕ
